Nelson Muffuh was appointed UN Resident Coordinator in South Africa by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, effective December 1, 2023. With over two decades in international relations, Muffuh served as Chief of Staff and Principal Strategic Adviser to the UN Deputy Secretary-General, focusing on accelerating efforts towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He played a pivotal role in the UN's COVID-19 response, advocating for SDG summits and climate action. Muffuh led stakeholder engagement for the 2030 Agenda, excelling in program management, advocacy, and international development. He holds degrees in political science and international relations.
